Screaming Mad George

MUSICIAN. ARTIST. CREATOR.

Screaming Mad George. You probably remember the first time you saw that name in the credits. It stands out, and it is not something you forget.

Mine may have been Paranoiascape, a Japanese PlayStation import I wore out in the nineties and passed around to friends. His name was right there on the box. Once I started paying attention, I realized how often he appeared in things I already loved.

A Nightmare on Elm Street 4 was the first movie where I actually clocked what he’d built, Debbie Stevens peeling her own face off to reveal the roach underneath. And he’s in Big Trouble in Little China too, working on the sewer monster and designing and painting the floating eye at Boss Film Studios, which is the kind of credit nobody brings up when they talk about that movie.

The Guyver and Society blew my tiny teen mind on premium cable, and Bride of Re-Animator and Freaked were big discoveries in my friend group, VHS rentals passed around the way that kind of tape always was.

That’s the whole reason this site exists, honestly. I went looking for everything he touched, one credit at a time, and there wasn’t anywhere that already had it collected.

He died in February 2026. This is still that collection, and it keeps going.
