The direct-to-video third Children of the Corn sequel finally puts the franchise’s corn deity, He Who Walks Behind the Rows, on screen as a physical creature rather than an implied presence. The credited creature is a massive, multi-eyed plant form with writhing root tentacles and wet, decaying surfaces. The available public record does not yet support the exact materials or operating method sometimes attributed to the build.
The film also includes a neck-stretch gag and the Human Scarecrow, a skin-peeling mutant whose clay sculpt was executed by a young Hiroshi Katagiri — his Hollywood start had come on The Guyver — under George’s supervision. Katagiri has since described George as a mentor who gave him real responsibility on that build rather than keeping him in a purely observational role. Special effects supervisor Thomas C. Rainone coordinated the on-set mechanics.
No named crew source divides the deity work further. The screen credit and Katagiri connection are firm; the operating method is not.
